Slip N' Slide

So we tried this last year which resulted in lots of tears but if you know James then you know his motto is "keep trying until they like it!" James made the boys a slip n slide out of left over plastic from the shop and it worked great! Mason absolutely loved it. He couldn't get enough. Brock however ran screaming every time James tried to get him to go down. Notice the picture of him hiding in the trees and then running screaming. He did eventually have fun playing with the hose. Since they were already wet we thought it would be a good time for ice-cream sandwiches too. Now you see why we don't eat these fully dressed in the house.

Bullards Beach

We spent a weekend camping at Bullards beach state park right outside of Bandon Oregon. It was the first time that we have been south of Coos Bay. The boys did great on the long drive and we had decent weather for being on the coast. They got to fly kites for the first time and of course no camping trip would be complete without smores, glow sticks and BBQ'd oysters.

West Coast Game Park

We took the boys to the wildlife park in Bandon while we were camping there with friends. The whole park is enclosed so the boys could run free instead of having to hang out in the stroller all day. It's a mixture of free range petting zoo with larger animals in cages like a zoo. Notice the bear sitting on it's hind legs begging for Brock's peanut butter bagel. Mason was so nervous around animals last year but not anymore. He chased a poor albino deer all around the place. Both boys got to pet lion cubs and they got the bottle feed baby tigers. Brock who has always loved animals loved the petting zoo portion of it. They had peacocks, ducks, goats, donkeys, llamas, rams, sheep, deer and more running around free range. Deer fear Brock, he had a whole heard running from him at one point.

Ready to Race

The boys are getting ready to race the Rotax. Maybe in a few more years.

Have Helmets, Ready To Party

It's all about safety in our house and the boys feel that it's safer to where their helmets backwards. This was they double as face protectors. Yep that's right they're COOL and they know it! Safety First Everyone!!

Yummy??

Garden soil....it's what's for dinner! Both boys felt the need to eat the garden soil while I was out pulling weeds the other day. So here is a picture of Mason's dirty face and this is what Brock looks like when you tell him NO!

The Alaska Clan

It's been so nice this summer getting to see everyone and never having to travel ourselves. Today we got to spend the day with my aunt Jan, cousin Allana and her daughter Emma. Emma was born just a few weeks before my boys were and they came to visit me while I was hanging out in the hospital. The kids had fun playing in the sandbox, picking nana's flowers and they discovered butterflies for the first time. They loved chasing them around the yard. We also got a couple of pics of Brock and Emma kissing. Good thing they have terrible aim, that way they share less germs :) I wish we could see them more often. It's too bad Dutch Harbor is so far away.
