Halloween 2010 Part 2

Oh yes it's more Halloween fun for the Dodge family. The day before Halloween my mom and I took the boys downtown in Albany to trick-o-treat the businesses there. Rae and the boy's cousins Kiley and Corbin came along too. When it started raining Corbin was the only one that got to stay dry hanging out in the baby sling.

Halloween LBCC Style

We took the boys out to LBCC again this year so that Nana could show them off to all of her coworkers. They really go all out with their costumes and decorations. This is the first year that the boys were old enough to enjoy it even though some of the stuff was still pretty scary for them. It was also their first time trick-or-treating. Since we haven't taught them to say trick-or-treat yet we just had them hold their buckets up and say "please". If they were feeling shy then they would just sign it instead of saying it. Too cute!

Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch 2010

This was our first time out to Grandpa's pumpkin patch with the boys. It's been so many years since I've even been out there that it doesn't much resemble the little fruit stand that I remember. It turned out to be a perfect day for the pumpkin patch. The boys had so much fun holding hands running through the pumpkins and James got it all on video. Holding hands is a new game to them now so they think it's lots of fun. They also had tons of fun playing in the hay bale maze. It's was perfect for toddlers.

Lone Pine Farms 2010

It was the first official trip to the pumpkin patch of the season. Josh, Miranda and I took the boys down to Lone Pine farms to let them run loose among the pumpkins. I really wanted them to ride the cow train but I was afraid that they would freak out and refuse to ride it after I spent the money so we decided to wait until next year. It turned out to be a beautiful day, in fact we got too hot hiking around outside. The boys got to run around the pumpkin patch, pet the goats, play peek-a-boo in the rows of flowers and almost knocked down the entire display of small pumpkins and gourds. This was a much better trip than my solo attempt about a month ago. The boys had a great morning with their Uncle Josh and Aunt Miranda.

Playtime At The Park

Well they predicted rain but it sure looked sunny to me so we headed to the park. We had been stuck inside all weekend so it felt good to get out and play....it was just a bit cold. Mason wanted mommy to go down all of the slides with him so he could sit on my lap. I think my elbows are covered in bruises because I'm just a bit to big for the kiddie slides :)

Soroptimist 5K Run 2010

This was the first time that I've done the breast cancer run in Albany and we had a really great time. I got my best time yet running the 5k in only 25 min. I came in 16th overall and 4th in my age group, not so bad if I do say so myself. After the run Ariela, Jenny, and I got in another 4 mile hike to finish off our workout.

Creating Beavers!

I was really excited when I found OSU fleece at JoAnn's the other day. I really tried to talk myself into being a nice person and making one Beaver & one Duck blanket or maybe even a half & half but I just couldn't do it. Beaver's it was! Since Mason was the first to wake up from his nap he got some one on one time learning what beavers look like. I was appalled to realize that he had no clue since we have no beaver stuff in the house. By the time daddy got home he was really good at pointing out all of the Beavers on his blanket. You can imagine how very impressed James was.
