Auntie Jen's Combines 2011

What perfect timing. The boys have spent all day talking nonstop about combines so when Auntie Jen called to see if we wanted to come check out her dad's combines we were all over it! The boys had so much fun climbing all over them and Carson enjoyed showing them off. Jen's dad Glen happened to be working in a field near by and gave all the kids a ride in one of the really big tractors. The boys got totally dirty and loved it. You could tell that there were too many kids in the cab when all the signals and lights were flashing as they drove through the field :)

Loon Lake 2011

What an amazing weekend! This was our first time to Loon Lake outside of Reedsport and we loved it. In fact we've already made our reservations for next year. On the way down we stopped in Florence so the boys could play on the beach but the boys were more excited to "go campin'". We got the best spot in the campground and the weather was perfect. What's not to like...warm water, no wind, few mosquitoes, sunshine! The boys got lots of swimming time in, we rented a paddle boat to explore the lake, they caught six fish off the dock and of course roasted smores. (Note James is using the industrial blow torch to start the fire :)They loved getting close to the deer at the lodge and they even made pirate hats during craft time. What a wonderful weekend!

Sunnyside Campout

So the goal of the weekend was to get the boys some time in the water in hopes that they will start to like it and be less afraid. We got to go out in both my parents boat and Niki & Mike's boat. They both love the boat though the water is a different story. Mason liked the water well enough in the beginning and even rode around in the tube behind my parent's boat while Brock cried when we even hinted at putting him in the water. This was until Mason took a tumble into the lake head first and fully dressed. Now he wants nothing to do with the water and was terrified when James fell out of the tube. So our plan completely back fired. We started out with one kid who liked the water now we have none :( They did start to warm up to the water a little more when we let them play on the beach but not enough to say that we won this round. The boys did have lots of fun on the playground and hanging out with friends and family. We also picked enough blackberries for cobbler..YUM.
