Oregon Coast Aquarium

On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend my mom and I took the boys to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. They has a new exhibit "The Sea and Me" which was really just of bunch of toys and play activities aimed at their age group. They of course had a blast but their favorite part of the whole place was seeing the scuba divers in the tanks cleaning the glass...go figure.

River Bend Memorial Day Weekend

While we didn't actually camp this weekend the rest of the Dodge family did so of course I needed to take the boys up for a camping "day trip". The boys has a blast playing with all of their cousins. They rode bikes all day, pushed their trucks around, played on the playground and of
course roasted marshmallows and peeps!

Wings of Wonder

How could I have lived here for 30 years and never heard of this place before? Rae and I took the kids to the "Wings of Wonder" in Independence today. I just heard about this place earlier this year and just this week I found out that it will be closing in a few weeks when the owners retire. They have a huge indoor butterfly sanctuary with hundreds of different butterflies in a tropical environment. The kids didn't know what to think when the butterflies tried to land on them. They also had a small reptile room with snakes, frogs, and iguana. Outside they had fun garden/play area perfect for our picnic lunch. It was the perfect thing to do on a sunny spring day. I'm so glad we made it before they closed the place.

First Ferry Ride

Since we were only 2 blocks away from a free ferry ride we decided to check it out. The boys had never been on a ferry before so they thought is was pretty cool. Mason was a bit confused at first when he thought we were actually going to get to see "fairies" but got over that quickly when we got to pick up a bike and a truck on the other side of the river and bring it back with us.

Hair Cut With Auntie Erika

Brock got his first professional hair cur with Erika last weekend. We've been trying to grow his hair out for a long time so he could have a hair cut other than a buzz cut but it just wasn't working. I finally took him in to see Erika hoping she would have some trick to help his hair but alas he was a lost cause so we just decided to buzz it again :( Brock was a little upset at first until we showed him all the finer points of his new hair cut. The most important being that there is no way to mess it up now and he thinks that is pretty cool.
