Peanuts No More

The boys are now 8 1/2 months old and they're getting so big that I don't think we can call them our little peanuts anymore. They still aren't crawling (which is okay by me) but they are sooo close. They get on their knee and rock, they just don't go anywhere. They've been doing this for a long time now but they seem to be happier just rolling and wiggling to get where they need to go. Brock still just has the two lower teeth and finally got his first tooth right at eight months. They're starting to interact more with each other but I think they still see each other as a toy instead of a person. Last weekend Mason discovered the kitchen and continues to be delighted by his own intelligence. Mason is now 18.5 lbs and Brock is 19 lbs (yes Brock has passed up his "big" brother in size so Mason is now the smaller one). We had the boys picture taken with their cousin Kiley who is 2 months old. Grandma Dodge really wanted to get a picture taken in their Beaver outfits. Being a duck fan James was really excited about this :)

7 1/2 Months Old

Time seems to go so fast! The boys are now 7 1/2 months old. Both can sit up and play as long as they want. They are also good at wiggling and rolling to get where they want to go. No crawling yet but they're very close. They're starting to get their knees under them but they just aren't sure what to do from there. Brock still just has the two lower teeth and Mason still doesn't have any yet. They are very aware of each other and want to play with each other like a toy but they don't really interact with each other yet. (They both like to touch but not be touched.)

Mason & Brock's 1st Christmas

This was Mason and Brock's first Christmas and what a wonderful day it was. We went to both grandparents houses and the boys got all the toys that they're going to need for awhile.

Brock is already getting the hang of opening presents and Mason had fun sitting on the giraffe that auntie Niki bought them.

It's only been a week since our last post and already the boys are changing. Mason is now rolling and squirming with a purpose. He can wiggle and roll across the room to get a toy he wants. He is very close to crawling. Brock doesn't really like to roll but he is now sitting up on his own. He can sit up and play for 10-15 minutes before he gets tired of sitting. Brock is also getting his first tooth. They are getting familiar with many new foods too. We've now tried sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, peas, prunes, and pears. Bananas are on the agenda for tomorrow....oh joy!!
