Lake Billy Chinook 2013
Another great weekend with friends and family! This was our first time to Lake Billy Chinook and we loved it, we'll definitely be going back. The canyon was beautiful and I absolutely love this part of Oregon. The kids played all day every day in he water. The guys went out fishing one morning while our little boys painting rocks with the park rangers "just like native americans". I say that very loosely because I'm fairly certain the Indians didn't use sharpie markers to color their rocks :) It was just another round of summertime, sunshine, BBQing and of course peep roasting :) We went with Grandma & Grandpa Dodge, plus the Hubbard and Currey clans.
Sunriver 2013
This was our second annual Raymond family trip to Sunriver. Every time I'm in central Oregon I wonder why I don't spend all my time over here. I love it here and we just don't get over this direction enough. Of course we had to stop in Sisters for milkshakes and lunch at the Snow Cap. Then on our way through Bend we stopped at a movies theater so the boys could see the new "Planes" movie. It wasn't as warm as we would have liked it and definitely more thunderstorms than we liked for the weekend but there is always fun to be had at Sunriver. We clocked lots of miles in on the bikes and on walks in the morning and swimming at the SHARC center, playing on the tube hill, bounce houses and bumper cars in the afternoons. James was even able to feed his kettle corn addiction. The boys were really excited to ride the bumper cars this year because last year they were too small. You have to be 44" tall to ride them and this year they were exactly 44" tall!
Dunefest 2013
What can I say we had an amazing time at Dunefest in Windchester Bay this year! We camped with several other racers that we haven't gotten to see since our Sand Mountain days and the weather was incredible. (Seriously I even broke out the shorts which never happens on the Oregon coast!)The boys drag raced their little quads for the first time and thought they were pretty hot stuff when they got trophies for participating in the kids races. Mason is so excited about his trophy that he is still sleeping with his. Their friend Dallas won the kids race and got the big trophy. All the kids of course had a blast playing together in the sand. All of James's bikes ran great and he took first place in the Sportsman class and ended up braking out in the king of the hill. Overall good times with good people = a great weekend!

Dodge Family Campout 2013
This year for the Dodge family campout we decided to stay out on Tia and Pat's farm. We made homemade root beer and the kids got to stir dry ice into the mix with giant wooden paddles. They loved all the smoke rolling off it. Mason thought he looked like a "witch". Tia also let the kids make ice-cream by shaking it in zip lock bags. Everyone stayed busy riding quads, swimming in the river, playing lazer tag and shooting guns. Mason got spooked when the free range llamas came running through camp and started yelling "camels, camels!!" It turned out to be awesome weekend!
